Columbia River girls basketball rallied from 10 points down at the end of the third quarter to avoid Woodland’s upset bid to win 64-59 on Thursday in Woodland.

The Beavers (6-8, 4-5) was up 32-26 at the half and 49-39 after three quarters, but couldn’t stop Gracie Glavin in the final eight minutes.

Glavin, who led River (9-5, 8-1) with 25 points, had 13 of those points in the fourth quarter to help pull the Rapid ahead.

Marley Myers added 20 points, and Emma Iniguez 10 for the Rapids.

Woodland’s Kennedy Bockert led all scorers with 27 points, Lainey Haden had 14 and Addi Stading 11.

Six turnovers down the stretch hurt Woodland.

“You have to play 32 minutes and we outplayed them for 28 and then handed it to them,” said Woodland coach Glen Flanagan. “Give them credit, they hit some big shots. It was weird. With four minutes to go, the clock struck midnight and we went from princess to the pauper.”
