Keirra Thompson had 24 points and 12 assists and Sophie Buzzard added 23 points as Camas outscored Southridge 8-1 in the overtime to win 72-65 on Tuesday night in Beaverton, Ore.
“Keirra and Sophie came up massive down the stretch,” Camas coach Scott Thompson said. “We saw a very young team take a massive step forward tonight. We withstood runs, we battled a much bigger team, and we had great composure when it mattered most.”
After jumping out to a 17-6 lead after one quarter, Southridge came back to take a 49-44 lead after three quarters before Camas forced overtime.
Buzzard hits five 3-pointers and had five steals. Thompson was 8 for 8 from 2-point range.
Lauren Hood had eight points and 10 rebounds.
