Letter: Third and fourth bridges are needed

By Mike Barrett, Vancouver

Nice to see local politicians talking about the need for a third bridge across the Columbia River between Clark County and metro Portland (“Clark County Council, area’s state legislators agree third bridge needed over Columbia River,” The Columbian, Dec. 15). As anyone who has to cross either bridge at any time of day other than late at night can tell you, it’s badly needed.

All I can say personally is what a shame they aren’t talking about a fourth bridge because if there was any foresight by politicians on both sides of the river, a third bridge would’ve been built 20 years ago.
