Prep highlights: Spencer’s 3-point buzzer beater wins it for Battle Ground

Tait Spencer scored the game-winning 3-pointer at the buzzer as Battle Ground topped Kelso 55-52 in a non-league matchup Thursday at Battle Ground.

Spencer finished with a game-high 22 points, his only 3-pointer being the decider.

Ty Robertson added 14 points for the Tigers (4-4 overall).

Michael Foust scored 20 points to lead Kelso (6-3) in scoring with Payton Stewart added 12 points.

Boys basketball

RIDGEFIELD 55, WOODLAND 42 — Henry Hughes led three Ridgefield players in double figures with 18 points as the Spudders won the 2A Greater St. Helens League matchup at Woodland.

Ty Snider scored 14 points and Sid Bryant had 11 for Ridgefield (9-2, 7-1).

Woodland (6-3, 4-2) led 15-13 after the first quarter, but scored just 12 points over the second and third quarters as Ridgefield pulled away.

Beau Swett scored 16 for Woodland.

Girls basketball

LA CENTER 47, CASTLE ROCK 36 — Gianna D’Emilio made five 3-pointers and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line on her way to a game high 23 points for the Wildcats.

La Center (8-5, 3-0) used just five players in the 1A Trico League game at Castle Rock.

Brooke Wirkkala led the Rockets with 14 points.
