Letter: Miller will be missed

On the 12th day of January, 2021, I was saddened to read Arch Miller, the founder of International Air Academy, had passed away on Saturday.

He was a great man and did many things in Clark County, the academy, and as Port of Vancouver commissioner for years and years, as well as many community things.

He was a great family man and great baseball fan and loved by all. He was wonderful to Colleen Piller, his CEO and president of International Air and Hospitality Academy and staff.

I worked with him for years in obtaining scholarships, starting with the Miss Clark County scholarship program and the Miss Washington scholarship program where I am scholarship development director. He was always there to help the contestants for more than 36 years and helped students launch successful careers in the airline and hospitality industries.

His dedication and community service made a stronger and prouder Clark County now and forever.
