Dusting of snow falls overnight in Clark County

More snow fell overnight on Clark County and the Portland area but most roads in Clark County are clear this morning, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

About ½ to 1 inch of snow fell in Vancouver, with more accumulations in parts of the county at higher elevation.

Vancouver Public Works again had crews out through the night pretreating major intersections, hills and main streets with deicer but advises some side streets may still be slushy or slick.

Temperatures were already above freezing in most parts of Clark County by 7 a.m., with Pearson Airfield reading 36 degrees in Vancouver, according to the National Weather Service in Portland. A winter weather advisory remains in effect in southwest Washington until noon.

Highs today are expected near 41 and rain should settle in by mid-morning. There is still a chance of rain and snow showers tonight with a low around 31, according to the NWS.

Some child cares and preschools are on late start this morning.

C-Trans has canceled a few routes and The Vine is still being served by 40-foot buses. For more information, visit C-Tran’s website.

Waste Connections is operating on a two-hour delay, though some routes may not have service if they cannot be navigated safely, according to the company. Visit the website for more details.

Libraries in Clark and Cowlitz counties will open at noon.
