Be merry

See Magenta Theater’s one-act holiday comedy, “Christmas Superpowers and Believing in Blitzen,” today and Friday. Tickets for this online-only show, available to view at whatever time is convenient, are $15. The heartwarming play follows four children who discover unexpected ways to make Christmas wishes come true. Get tickets at www.magentatheater.com or call 360-949-3098.

Picture perfect

Society of Washington Artists presents its 2021 Holiday Art Show. Artwork is for sale online from now through Dec. 31. Most of the artwork will also be displayed at the Art at the Cave Gallery at 108 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, through Dec. 31. Art at the Cave is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Find the virtual event at www.swavancouver.com/shop.

Put down roots

Clark Conservation District’s Native Plant Sale runs through mid-February. Order at clarkcd.org/plant-sale, then pick up plants on Feb. 19 at the Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education (CASEE), 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Early ordering is recommended because stock sell out. The sale is only online; no plants can be purchased on pick-up day. For details, call 360-859-4780 or visit clarkcd.org.

See the light

The Grotto, 8840 N.E. Skidmore St., Portland, will host the Christmas Festival of Lights, 4:30-10 nightly through Dec. 30 except Christmas Day. Enjoy caroling, a puppet show, indoor concerts and 2 million lights. Tickets must be purchased online in advance at thegrotto.org. General admission is $14, children ages 3 to 11 are $7, and tots 2 and under are free but still need a ticket.

Savor the present

The Greater Vancouver Chamber and Visit Vancouver USA are offering “Savor the Couve,” a takeout dining event on Thursdays through the end of February. Each week, restaurants, breweries, tasting rooms and caterers collaborate on five-course dinners for two, offered for $125 an order. Pick up meals at The Diner Vancouver, 5303 E. Mill Plain Blvd. $25 of every order is donated to local nonprofits. For details, visit shopgvchamber.com.
