Letter: Reality check is in order

By George Hamilton, Battle Ground

Yes, Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, voted to hold Trump accountable. Yes, she voted to kill sea lions. But she also voted to not hold Mark Meadows in contempt for refusing to testify before Congress as to the events of Jan. 6. Local Republicans have at least three candidates ready to primary her. For what reason? She seems to be not committed as to seeking the truth.

Is our system of government so fragile that truth is avoided?

I think a reality check is in order for all those now condemning poor Jaime. She doesn’t have the integrity you thought she had.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
