Washougal’s Jaiden Bea selected the Week 12 Northwest Personal Training prep athlete of the week

Bea beats out Prairie's Gretchen Lane for honor

Washougal basketball player Jaiden Bea is the Northwest Personal Training Week 12 high school athlete of the week.

Bea beat out Prairie gymnast Gretchen Lane for the honor.

Bea averaged 26 points and 17 rebounds in two wins for the Panthers, hitting 5 3-pointers in a win over Skyview.

The other nominees were:

TENNYSON KURTZ, COLUMBIA RIVER WRESTLING: Kurtz won the 138-pound division at the Wildcat Invitational in La Center, helping the Rapids to the team title.

GRETCHEN LANE, PRAIRIE GYMNASTICS: Lane won the bars, beam and floor while taking the all-around with a score of 34.9 in a season-opening meet at Northpointe.

TYLER TORVE, CAMAS BOYS SWIMMING: Torve was the top-scoring swimmer at the Sprint Pentathlon in Longview, winning the 25 individual medley, 25 freestyle and 100 breaststroke.

ISAIAH VARGAS, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS BASKETBALL: Vargas averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in three games, including a 23-point, 14-rebound effort in a win over Battle Ground.
