Vancouver City Councilor Ty Stober was reelected to the National League of Cities Board of Directors.
Stober will serve a two-year term where he will advise the organization on its federal advocacy, governance and membership activities. His previous appointment lasted one year. A 15-member nominating committee selected candidates for the position and then organization members voted them in.
The board will meet in March, June and November to discuss its strategic plans.
“Many of the concerns we’re facing and working to address, both locally and nationally, require collaborating to identify solutions at the federal level,” Stober said in a statement.
The organization is the largest representative body for cities, elected city leaders and municipal staff, as more than 2,400 communities in the U.S. are involved. The National League of Cities Board of Directors serves a large role in determining priorities and policies, which contributes to its overall goal of creating solutions to move communities forward, National League of Cities Vice President Mayor Vince Williams said in a statement.
