Letter: Crossing a thin, blue line

For the first time in my life at almost 60 years young, I’m considering becoming a gun owner. Not that I’m so afraid of my fellow citizens, as thus far I’ve been pretty lucky, but to protect myself from cops. The endless deaths and blatant disrespect for life and the home invasions give me reason for alarm. Some of the videos literally raise my blood pressure! I too, of course, agree with the BLM movement and sadly, being white, I’d probably live through an unfortunate encounter. Or would I?

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
