Dennis Hill appointed to La Center City Council

A new member has joined the La Center City Council.

The council held interviews on Dec. 2 for the seat vacated by former Councilmember Jon Stimmel, who resigned and moved out of the area. Councilmembers chose Dennis Hill from a list of four candidates.

Hill retired in 1998 after a 35-year career with Boeing, including various levels of management. Since his moved to La Center in 2010, he has served on the city’s Planning Commission, Salary Commission and Parks Advisory Board.

In his application, Hill said he will be a “strong advocate” for commercial and light industrial development at the La Center Junction and downtown.
