It is with deep gratitude that I write to congratulate our county council for moving unincorporated Clark County toward safe and sane fireworks. On the Fourth of July, 2022, I look forward to spending time with friends and family, enjoying the community fireworks at Fort Vancouver and returning home to happy pets and a quiet night of sleep.
In 2021, however, I will still experience the noisy, bright horror that is the Fourth of July here. Instead of enjoying time with friends and a peaceful sleep, I will spend my time comforting my pets, my friends with PTSD and checking my property to ensure there are no fires and the hoses are connected and ready to go if needed.
Thank you, county council, for bringing us closer to the safe and sane holidays the majority of our country enjoy.
