Washington big game and turkey hunters have until Jan. 31 to report the results of their 2018 hunts. Hunter reports can be submitted either online at https://fishhunt.dfw.wa.gov/ or by phone at 1-877-945-3492.

Hunters will need to create an account before they are able to report online. To create an account, click the “ID and Birthdate” tab in the top right of the grey Login box. Enter a Wild ID, SSN, or driver’s license number, as well as a last name and date of birth.

The system may ask for a document number. This number can be found at the top of the hunting license and is clearly labeled. Hunters can use any document number from the last three hunting seasons. Entering a document number is an added security feature for Washington hunters.

Conservation group’s meeting upcoming

The Southwest Washington chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association will hold its regular monthly members meeting this January 8 at 6:30 pm at the Camas Meadows Gold Club at 4105 NW Camas Meadows Drive.

Oregon roadkill salvage permits available

Beginning Jan. 1, 2019, deer and elk struck by vehicles can be legally salvaged in Oregon using a free online permit.

The change in law was required after the passage of Senate Bill 372 during the 2017 Oregon State Legislative session.

Only deer and elk accidentally struck by a vehicle may be salvaged and for human consumption of the meat only. Intentionally hitting a deer or elk remains unlawful.

The entire carcass of the animal including gut piles must be removed from the road and road right of way during the salvage.
