Letter: No defense for Trumps

By Bill Kelley, Yacolt

In regard to “No way to treat a first lady“, Debra Saunders’ column on first lady Melania Trump being booed by children: Saunders says “if teens did the same to former first lady Michelle Obama, their behavior would be called hate speech.”

Typical argument. Michelle Obama will not be and is not booed by teens or others because her husband is not a boorish bully who insults everyone and anybody. Saunders writes Trump-supporting articles; if she really believed in civility to others, she would first denigrate President Trump for his insulting behavior, let alone his illegal behavior. After all, he sets the standard. His standards are gutter-height. Saunders’ standards are therefore gutter-height also, in spite of her words.
