SPOKANE — Officials are investigating after a vehicle crashed into a train in West Spokane County.
Spokane County Sheriff’s deputies received a call at about 5:30 a.m. Friday about a passenger truck that struck a train on Coulee Hite Road.
The truck was pulling a boat or trailer.
Two people in the truck received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Both were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
The train was stopped across the road while connecting additional railroad cars.
Deputies believe speed was a factor in the crash, due to the thick fog and slick road. Officials say the truck couldn’t stop in time.
