Girls basketball: La Center 68, King’s Way Christian 29

Molly Edwards scored 20 points to help push La Center past King’s Way and move to 2-0 in league play.

The Wildcats led 31-8 at halftime, then exploded for 28 points in the third quarter — 13 of which came from Edwards.

“We’ve still got some work to do,” La Center coach Herm VanWeerdhuizen said. “We couldn’t buy a basket in the first half, but we played good defense.

Whitley Seter added 14 rebounds, six steals and five assists for the Wildcats.

Kira Zook had 10 points for King’s Way.
