Girls basketball: David Douglas 63, Mountain View 44

The Thunder trailed by just one point at halftime, but got outscored 19-7 in the third quarter as David Douglas posted its first win of the season in the Nike Interstate Shootout at Lake Oswego.

“We were outhustled,” Mountain View coach Dave McIntosh said about the second half. “They got into their transition game and we couldn’t stop it.”

Paytin Ballard led the Thunder in scoring with 14 points and also had six rebounds and five assists. Lauren Coop had 13 points.

Mountain View (3-8) takes on Lincoln at 11 a.m. Saturday.
