Letter: Childishness hurts Democrats

By Dennis Rozario, VANCOUVER

I have figured out why the Democrats lost the presidential election, and it’s not because of the Russians or the FBI. It’s the same reason they lost over 1,000 other publicly elected positions nationwide to Republicans over the past eight years.

There are now more governors, senators, congressmen, and other elected officials who call themselves Republican than ever. Why? Because Democrats are bullies. If they don’t get their way, they protest, blockade, call names, strike, play the victim, stifle free speech, belittle their opponents, fabricate stories, play the race card, etc.

But they are incapable of recognizing this. Look at how many of them have behaved following President Trump’s election — they boycott the inauguration, march and protest. They will make excuses and blame others and keep doing what they always do, which will ensure more Republican successes. Democrats have to stop acting like spoiled children and more like mature adults.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
