Letter: Invest in Ridgefield schools

By Kena Boer, RIDGEFIELD
Published: January 10, 2017, 6:00am

It’s hard to believe it’s already been five years since the last school bond passed in Ridgefield. The positive impact it made to our kids and community as a whole has been tremendous. Since then, just like many of our families, our city continues to grow, and again our schools and roads downtown are over capacity.

Change is rarely comfortable and not always what we want — especially for those of us that are drawn to Ridgefield’s small-town charm. That being said, this growth is inevitable and can result in some fantastic results if we work together.

Part of what makes this a special place is our sense of community and family. Ridgefield School District has consistently done well while operating on a budget less than other area districts. Let’s continue to invest in our schools and provide resources for the next generation. Our kids deserve an outstanding education and classrooms to learn.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
