Everybody has a story; what’s yours?

Things are changing in Clark County. The Camas paper mill is in jeopardy. So is the proposed rail-to-river oil terminal. Vancouver has elected its first woman mayor. And the old Vancouver waterfront is transforming into something shiny and new.

Got any stories about major changes — or teeny anecdotes — in your life? The Columbian’s “Everybody Has a Story” column is eager hear from readers with true tales to tell. Serious or silly, big or small — we like it all. Just follow these guidelines:

• Your story must be true.

• It must be no longer than 1,000 words — and the shorter, the better.

• Focus on your personal experience. What were you seeing, hearing, thinking, feeling?

When you’re done with a draft, let it cool off and give it a read. Are the details right? Is the writing clear? Send your story to neighbors@columbian.com. Call “Everybody Has an Editor” Scott Hewitt, 360-735-4525, with questions.
