La Center battled back from as much as a 12-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but lost to Morton-White Pass 79-77 in overtime on Tuesday.

The Wildcats trailed by three with five seconds in regulation when Hunter Ecklund hit a 3-pointer to force overtime.

But Morton was too much. In particular, Morton guard Matthew Poquette, who finished with 41 points (including at least four dunks) and 19 rebounds.

“We had to try everything we could to stop him, he’s a one-man wrecking crew,” La Center coach Jeremy Ecklund said. “That’s a tough team. For a B school they’re going to be top of their league.”

Matt Bryant had 12 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter for the Wildcats.
