The number of arrests made this New Year’s weekend on Clark County highways was down 20 percent when compared to the previous year, a statistic the Washington State Patrol is attributing to increased public awareness.
The time period for arrests covers Dec. 31 through Sunday. As in previous years, the state patrol increased the number of troopers patrolling during the holiday weekend.
