OLYMPIA — Razor clam digging will be open tonight and Saturday at Copalis and Mocrocks beaches.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife approved the two-day dig after marine toxin tests showed the clams are safe to eat.

“Diggers can fill their buckets just in time for the new year,’’ said Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager for the agency.

Low tide today is -0.4 feet at 7:22 p.m. Low tide on Saturday is -0.4 feet at 7:57 p.m.

Diggers can take 15 clams per day and must keep the first 15 dug. Each digger’s clams must be kept in a separate container.

Long Beach Peninsula remains closed due to elevated levels of marine toxins.
