More snow is possible for the hills of Southwest Washington this morning as a winter storm warning remains in effect until 9 a.m.
One to four more inches of snow could fall in places including Cougar, Ariel and Lake Merwin, according to the National Weather Service in Portland.
Later in the day the snow level will rise to 2,500 feet, turning any remaining precipitation into rain in lower elevations.
None of this will affect the Vancouver area, where it was 43 degrees at about 6:30 a.m. The forecast calls for showers today, and a low tonight near 35 degrees.
The Columbian’s news partner, KATU-TV, reported Interstate 84 was slick in portions of the Columbia River Gorge this morning.
