Letter: Clinton damage is self-made

By Richard Leonetti, PORTLAND

It is not the hacking, per se, that caused a problem for Hillary Clinton and the Democrats but the information revealed about their thinking and actions in the leaked emails. It is terrible that a foreign government tried to influence our election, but the real damage to the Clinton campaign was self-made. They would like us to focus on the Russians but what the emails revealed has not been denied and this rightfully damning evidence brought down the Clinton candidacy.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
