Letter: Support Ridgefield bond

By Amanda McCann, RIDGEFIELD
Published: December 14, 2016, 6:00am

We moved to Ridgefield three years ago. I was excited for my son because he would be attending a very successful school district. I was also concerned about the transition to a new school. His teacher washed my worries away on his first day. She took his hand and assured him that everything was going to be all right. And it has been. It has been fantastic. In Ridgefield, teachers take the time to get to know every student, learn what makes them unique, and challenge each child to achieve his or her full potential.

It’s not surprising that our community is rapidly growing. The 2017 bond addresses this growth, providing space for 1,300 new students in modern schools, improving security at every school, and doing so while maintaining fiscal accountability to the taxpayers. I am proud to call Ridgefield home and proud to support the bond. I encourage you to do the same and vote “yes.”
