Girls basketball: Kamiakin 60, Camas 53

The Papermakers had a tough time against the press of Kamiakin in the season-opening game, but still hung close against a team that placed fifth at 3A state last year with most of its players returning.

Haley Hanson scored 13 points and Madison Freemon had 10 for Camas.

Oumou Toure, who was scouted by Oregon women’s basketball coach Kelly Graves, scored a game-high 27 points.
