Letter: Initiative would bolster gun laws

The Columbian
Published: January 30, 2014, 4:00pm

One way we can make our homes, places of business and life in general safer is to support stronger gun laws, including Initiative 594, which would apply background checks to all gun sales in Washington state. Our state representatives and senators will soon have hearings on Initiative 594. Please contact those men or women from your area and ask for their support on this important safety issue.

There’s no single solution to stopping gun violence, but implementing a few common-sense reforms like Initiative 594, requiring universal background checks, is a step in the right direction.
