Bucknell holds off Loyola (Md) 70-60

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Cameron Ayers scored 19 points to lead Bucknell over Loyola (Md.) 70-60 on Wednesday.

Bucknell (9-9, 4-3 Patriot League) got 14 points from Ben Brackney and 12 from Brian Fitzpatrick. The Bison shot 43 percent from the floor, but just 5 of 18 on 3-pointers.

Loyola (8-10, 3-4) was led by Dylon Cormier’s 20 points, while Jarred Jones added 13 points. The Greyhounds went 8 of 16 from the line and just 4 of 18 (22 percent) from beyond the arc.

Bucknell led by as much as 10 in the first half, but Loyola trimmed that to three at the half, scoring the final six points before intermission.

Loyola stayed hot after the break, as a 10-2 run gave them a 5-point lead at 16:39.

Brackney was fouled on a 3-point attempt at 12:13 and hit all three free throws to take a 47-45 lead. Bucknell never trailed again.
