Micah Paulson of the Union boys basketball team was voted The Columbian’s high school winter sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Jan. 11.
Paulson collected 37 percent of the 1,551 votes cast by fans to beat out Zac Seevers of Woodland wrestling, who had 31 percent.
Paulson averaged 17.5 points a game as the Titans opened 4A Greater St. Helens League play with back-to-back wins.
The other nominees were Brooke Atwell of Heritage gymnastics, Aubrey Ward-El of Skyview girls basketball and Jaron Hamlik of Prairie swimming.
