Browns enter Week 3 of coaching search

CLEVELAND (AP) — The Browns are in a final four they never want to revisit.

Cleveland is one of four NFL franchises still looking for a head coach, and as the Browns enter the third week of their search to find Rob Chudzinski’s replacement, there doesn’t appear to be any front-runner for the job. The Browns have interviewed at least five known candidates and were reportedly meeting with former Tennessee coach Mike Munchak on Monday.

San Diego’s loss to Denver has freed Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt to accept a job. He interviewed with the Browns on Saturday and the 51-year-old would be a nice fit in Cleveland. However, he is also in consideration for the openings in Tennessee and Detroit.

The Browns are willing to wait as long as it takes to make the right hire. Denver offensive coordinator Adam Gase was the first candidate they contacted after firing Chudzinski, but he declined the interview until after the playoffs.
