OBERHOF, Germany (AP) — Olympic champion Felix Loch of Germany won his fourth World Cup race of the season Sunday, moving closer to his third straight overall series title.
Loch’s two-run time was 1 minute, 26.957 seconds, leading a German sweep. Andi Langerhan was second in 1:27.152, and Julian von Schleinitz — who was 49th in the season standings entering Sunday — was third in 1:27.523.
Loch now holds a 130-point lead with two races remaining and could wrap up the title with a second-place finish at Altenberg next weekend.
Russia’s Albert Demchenko was fourth. Italy’s Armin Zoeggeler, who was second in the standings entering the day, finished 22nd.
Chris Mazdzer was the top U.S. finisher, placing 18th and crossing the line one spot better than Tucker West and 11 ahead of Aidan Kelly.
