Girls basketball: Evergreen 44, De La Salle 35

Hayley Avery scored 12 points to lead a balanced attack as the Plainsmen won in their own Hoops on the Holiday tournament.

Felicia Bahr and Lexi Burney each added eight points for Evergreen (2-7).

“We execute well this game,” Evergreen coach Jay Foreman said. “That’s something we’ve been lacking up until now. Basically, we were solid. We were a solid team tonight, which is what we want to see.”

Evergreen will face Jefferson, another Portland opponent, at noon Tuesday.
