PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Diamondbacks have finalized their $5 million, two-year contract with shortstop Cliff Pennington.
The deal, which avoided salary arbitration, was agreed to Jan. 23 and completed Wednesday.
Pennington was acquired by the Diamondbacks from Oakland in October as part of a three-team trade that sent center fielder Chris Young to the Atheltics and reliever Heath Bell from Miami to Arizona.
