Esther Short — K.C. Madsen’s colorful, crumpled, towering jumbles of paint and paper are all over Vancouver City Hall. On Jan. 11, Madsen and some friends from the Clark County Arts Commission installed nine Madsen creations in the lobby and hallways of the building at 415 W. Sixth St. Madsen, a celebrated Vancouver artist who also has a work on display in the window of the main Vancouver library, said the show is called “Resurgence” and it’s all about making painting three-dimensional. Madsen also curated the “Windows into Art” exhibition that brought art to vacant store windows in downtown Vancouver in 2010. Learn more online.
