Clark County Right to Life will hold a rally from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday on the steps of the Clark County Courthouse to demonstrate members’ continued opposition to abortion on the 40th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision that limited federal and state restrictions on it.

“It’s going to be a quiet, nonconfrontational type of thing,” said Laura Jackson, a director on Clark County Right to Life’s board.

The event will include speakers and music, she said. People of all ages are invited to participate, she added.

The court handed down its Roe v. Wade decision on Jan. 22, 1973.

A group on the other side of the issue, NARAL Pro-Choice Washington, has not announced any local rally.
