WSU Vancouver to host open mic poetry event

Washington State University Vancouver will host an open mic poetry night at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in the Library Building, room 203 (VLIB 203). The event will feature Dennis McBride and be hosted by Christopher Luna.

Born in Portland, McBride is the author of “Looking for Peoria” and “Killing the Mockingbird.” His work has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Oregonian, Rain City Review, and on NBC Radio.

Luna is the co-founder of Printed Matter Vancouver and consults for WSU Vancouver’s writing center. He has hosted open mic poetry since 2004. His poetry has appeared in publications including the Soundings Review and the Chiron Review.
