Nyingifa leads No. 16 UCLA women over Oregon 89-80

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Atonye Nyingifa scored 18 points, leading five players in double figures, to help No. 16 UCLA beat Oregon 89-80 Friday night in the Pac-12 opener for both teams.

Nyingifa was 7 of 13 from the field. Nirra Fields scored 14 points, and Thea Lemberger and Kari Korver had 11 points apiece. Markel Walker had 10 points, 11 rebounds and six assists for UCLA (10-2).

UCLA led 50-32 at halftime and never looked back.

Jillian Alleyne had 19 points and 12 rebounds for the Ducks (2-11) Ariel Thomas led the Ducks in scoring with 20 points. Devyn Galland added 11 points, and Danielle Love had 10.

UCLA shot 45.8 percent from the field for the game, while Oregon shot 42 percent, and made 32 points off the Duck’s 18 turnovers.
