Woman badly injured in Portland stabbing, 1 arrest

PORTLAND — Police in Portland say they have arrested a 48-year-old man in a domestic violence stabbing that left a 41-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

Sgt. Pete Simpson said Marselia Maldonado-Diaz was hospitalized after the attack early Tuesday morning in her southeast Portland home.

Police arrested Acension Rosales for investigation of attempted murder and assault.

The Oregonian identified Rosales as the woman’s husband.
