VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — Roberto Luongo expects to soon return to the Vancouver Canucks lineup, a prognosis that suggests the injured goaltender would be ready to play for Canada at next month’s Sochi Olympics.

Luongo took part in his first workout with the team Wednesday since his “lower-body” injury Dec. 22 against Winnipeg.

He said after a morning skate leading to Vancouver’s game against Tampa Bay that “everything’s progressing really well right now.”

Luongo would not elaborate on his injury, but said he was still not healthy enough to play against Tampa Bay. He indicated he could be in the lineup in the next few days.
