Letter: Ryan’s plan heads us to disaster

Keep your eye on the shell with the pea because Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas, has a dirty little secret. On at least three separate occasions she and her Tea Party friends have voted for Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget plan. This vote would destroy Medicare as we know it and throw millions of future seniors into a premium support system and into the Republican’s beloved Wild West market place where insurance companies can call anything a pre-existing condition, jack up premiums, not pay your claims, and cancel your policy while making tons of money. Basically, all the things that Obamacare is designed to fix.

Now, while paying little for her own government-provided health care, Herrera Beutler supports something called Health Savings Accounts. She thinks her cash-strapped constituents should just set up savings accounts to pay for all their health care needs. Jaime, stop supporting the shell game.
