Bobcats sign F Douglas-Roberts, waive Southerland

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — With injuries mounting at small forward, the Bobcats signed Chris Douglas-Roberts from the D-League’s Texas Legends and waived forward James Southerland.

Details of the contract were not disclosed.

The Bobcats are dealing with injuries to small forwards Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Jeffery Taylor.

Douglas-Roberts averaged 18.7 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 34 minutes in six games for the Legends.

The 6-foot-7 Douglas-Roberts has played in 161 career games for the Nets, Bucks and Mavericks and averaged 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 20.3 minutes. He’s shot 44 percent from the field for his career and 83 percent from the free throw line.

Southerland signed with the Bobcats on Sept. 5. He has only played three minutes.
