BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Mitchell Watt scored 20 points and blocked five shots to lead Buffalo over Ball State 73-57 on Wednesday night.
The Bulls (13-6, 6-2 Mid-American Conference) shot 54 percent from the field (27 of 50), including going 10 of 19 form 3-point range (52.6 percent) to help negate 16 turnovers. Zach Filzen, who scored 14 points, was 4 of 6 from behind the arc, and Javon McCrea added 10 points for Buffalo.
It was the Bulls fifth straight win.
Buffalo outrebounded Ball State 36-24 and outscored the Cardinals 13-2 on second chances.
Ball State (12-8, 4-4) shot just 36.8 percent (21 of 57), below its average of 43.5 percent. The Cardinals also scored below their average of 65.7 points per game, in their third straight loss.
Jarrod Jones was the only double-figure scorer for Ball State with 21 points and eight rebounds.
