VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) — The Chicago Blackhawks have activated Jonathan Toews and Patrick Sharp, two of their top scorers, from injured reserved for Tuesday night’s game against the Vancouver Canucks.
Toews was injured on Jan. 20 when Florida’s Erik Gudbranson slashed him on the wrist as he was trying to take a shot. Toews missed the All-Star game in Ottawa because of the injury.
Sharp was also slashed on the wrist. His injury was caused by Detroit’s Jiri Hudler while scoring a goal on Jan. 8 and missed Chicago’s last eight games.
Toews is tied for second in the NHL with 27 goals and second on the Blackhawks with 50 points. Sharp is tied for second on Chicago with 20 goals and ranks fourth on the club with 40 points.
