In the Jan. 21 story, “Report questions CRC spending,” I found Rep. Jim Moeller’s (D-Vancouver)comment doubting the credibility of Tiffany Couch’s CRC report somewhat telling. Moeller assumes that, since Couch is hired, her efforts are controlled and skewed. He said: “I think that Tiffany is doing the job she was hired to do, and that’s stop the project.” For an elected representative, this is the norm.
Elected representatives gather our group conscience and present it to the whole regardless of their personal beliefs. In the private sector, we are responsible for our own actions. If we commit a crime or tell a lie, we are responsible. It doesn’t matter if someone has paid us to do it. The problem Moeller and the CRC are having is they haven’t received their group’s conscience.
