Girls basketball: Battle Ground 53, Union 45

A day after a surprising loss, the Battle Ground Tigers got back in the win column and remain alone in second place in the Class 4A Greater St. Helens League.

Nikki Bond scored 15 points and Haley Grossman added 13 in the victory at Union.

Battle Ground held the Titans to four points through the first 12 minutes of the game and then led by 13 at the half.

Union rallied in the third quarter, but Battle Ground was too strong down the stretch.

Angelique Williams led Union with 18 points. Jessica Chatman added 14.

Tessa Vanderpool had a solid all-around performance for the Tigers with seven points, five assists, and four steals. Grossman led the Tigers with seven rebounds. Bond also had four assists.

JV — Union won. C — Battle Ground won.
