YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Quintin Dailey’s 3-pointer with 3:05 to play broke a tie and Eastern Michigan held on to beat Toledo 41-38 on Saturday.
Dailey’s shot put the Eagles (9-10, 4-1 Mid-American) ahead 39-36, and Jamell Harris’ dunk with 2:21 left gave them a five-point lead. They didn’t score again, but Toledo managed just one field goal the rest of the way, missing a pair of later 3-pointers for the tie.
Darrell Lampley had nine points to lead Eastern Michigan. The Eagles led 15-14 at halftime and shot 33 percent from the field while Toledo shot 30 percent.
Rian Pearson led the Rockets (9-9, 1-4) with 12 points, and Curtis Dennis scored 10.
Eastern Michigan has won six straight in the series between the MAC schools.
