ELLENSBURG, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a truck driver will likely be charged with driving too fast for conditions for plowing into a Washington State Patrol car near Snoqualmie Pass at Easton.
The trooper was out of his car at the time Thursday enforcing chain-up requirements in the snow.
Five more trucks were unable to stop and collided with the other vehicles.
The Daily Record reports (http://is.gd/XGftQk ) three truck drivers were taken to Kittitas Valley Community Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Two of the trucks were hauling hazardous materials, including an explosive and a corrosive. Nothing leaked, but it complicated the accident, which tied up traffic for nearly eight hours.
