LOS ANGELES (AP) — Investigators plan to search the brush near a popular Hollywood hiking trail where a human head in a plastic bag was found by dog walkers.
Police say officers and Los Angeles County coroner’s investigators arrived Wednesday morning to search for body parts and clues near the trail in Bronson Canyon, a section of Griffith Park near the Hollywood sign.
There was no immediate word on the cause of death.
Two people walking nine dogs called police Wednesday afternoon after two dogs ran into the brush and began playing with and shaking a plastic bag. Police told KNX-AM radio the bag contained the fairly fresh head of a man in his late 40s of early 50s.
Coroner’s investigators will attempt to identify the person through dental records.
